A Glimpse of Our Future.... HOO-RAY!!!

Good News...

All of Scotts HARD WORK has finally paid off...

*Last week Scott was accepted into the Navy for a full scholorship to Dental School.

*Monday Scott was accepted to the Dental School at Western University in Pomona, CA.

*Today we are finally breathing in peace.
HOO-RAY! HOO-RAH! SHISH-COOM-BAH!!!!!!!
We picked up some balloons and made a sign for Scott to come home to, I made yummy soup with bread bowls, and we decorated cookies, and ate some of our favorite treats.
Jackson eating his cookie.
*we just decided he has hit that "weird" stage. i will post more on him another day....?
Clara with her cookie.Scott with the kids... SO HAPPY.
THE MAN WITH HIS WOMAN... in her pj's.
This coming fall... This is where Scott will be spending every day of his life. It is a brand new building with all brand new state of the art technology. He can't wait.

And in 4.5 years (and another 4 years after that).... This will be a very familiar place to our family. Hopefully not the ship in particular, but rather, all that it stands for. We are thrilled to FINALLY be doing what we have worked so hard for, and wanted for SO long. I feel like we have a small glimpse into our future... something we have never really had.

Scott can't wait to get into his books and start creating his dream.

I can't wait to live in CA... spend many days at the beach... lots of play time at Disney Land... be only 1.5 hours from Kristen and Garret... 5.5 hours from AZ... 10 hours from my family... and many other friends and family inbetween.

And we BOTH look forward to the snow being something that we visit, and not live in.

Hoo-ray for this big change that has come our way. And MANY thanks to all of you that were praying and fasting for us.

This Week...

Monday:
I spend the day in Heber with the girls... we had fun sewing and thinking of fun projects we can do. The boys in my family spent the day at the car show. Jackson went with, and loved it. I am so glad Scott has Jackson to do the boy bonding stuff with. It makes me anxious for Clara to get a little older and for us to go out and do shopping and spa days.

Tuesday:
The kids spent most of the day in their pajamas spinning on the chair. Clara sits. Jackson spins her. And they both laugh. Clara gets super sick and can hardly walk after, but continues to get right back up on the chair for another round. Wednesday:
I fed Clara pudding and she made a mess. This mess was followed by a long, much needed bath.
Jackson got close enough for Clara to take advantage and wack him in the face. Wednesday I also made Clara her first pair of "comfy" pants. Of course, I have purchased some before - but figured I could take some old sweatshirts and put something fun together. I think they turned out OK, but am looking forward to trying it out again and making them that much better. Thursday:
We watched my friends little boy while her and her hubby went to the gym. We love baby Brody, and welcome him to our house any time!
Jackson is so sweet with other kids. And is such a good big brother to Clara. She adores him.
We pretty much have kids at our house all day, every day. Jackson loves to play with his friends. And luckily, Clara is always in on the fun. I can usually get more done when we have friends over, rather than just my two kids. It doesn't make sense - but its just how it works.
This is Clara's "SQUISHY FACE". She loves to squish the cheeks together on herself - but mostly other people and then she finishes it off with a "SQUISHY FACE KISS". It's my favorite.
Friday:
Jackson ran out the door to play with his friend Keagan. He came back 10 minutes later in tears. When I asked what was wrong he said, "I want a cool shirt like Keagan".
Apparently Keagan had a batman shirt on and Jackson didn't like that I had put him in a boring skull shirt. Hmmm... So we put on his Spiderman sweatshirt. And although it still wasn't as cool as Keagans, he settled.
Saturday:
We love Saturday's...
1. Scott is home ALL day.
2. I get to go to my favorite Zumba class.
3. We always do a fun family activity.
This Saturday, Scott and Jack went sledding with some friends.

This has been a fun week. Although we were indoors the first part of the week (because of the terrible air), we still stayed busy and enjoyed staying in our pajamas most of the days.

Family Picture

My mom bought all the grandkids sweaters and hats for a family picture. We had them taken just outside my parents house. It was FREEZING and the kids were ready for some hot cocoa, but of course I wanted a quick shot of our little family.

This was literally the ONE SHOT we took. Not bad, exept for little Clara. She was in desperate need of a nap. Thanks Mom for getting all the cute sweaters and hats for the kids. They all looked adorable! And thanks Melissa for always supplying us with a photographer. One shot, and you made it work. You are very talented.

Bath Time

Jackson LOVES his bath time. Most nights he will stay in for about an hour. But there are 2 items he has to have:
1. Goggles
2. A swimsuit Clara also likes the bath. She likes to lay on her tummy and blow bubbles or look at herself in the silver circle under the faucet.

The other night, Scott got her out of the bath and into her pj's. More often than not he forgets to drain the water after he gets the kids out of the tub... (not safe!)
Scott and I were talking, Clara was off playing, and we heard a big splash. I knew exactly what it was... she had climbed/fallen into the tub - that was still filled with water. Oops. Pretty sure Scott will remember to drain the water next time ;)
This is our little girl on first sight.
This is our little girl wanting mom to stop taking pictures and GET HER OUT.

Nothing But Skivvies...

Here is proof that Jackson forgets his little sister is...
One: 18 Months Old
Two: A Girl
Proof that Clara... more often than not... like it.
Clara loves to run around in nothing but a diaper, even when it is only 67 degrees in our house.
Thanks to Jack's cousin (Henry), we call his underwear, under-roo's. But these new boxer brief style are referred to as:
"Under-roo Garments" (due to the fact that they are long like daddy's)
More often than not I feel like our house is one big "bouncy house". And I love it.

I love my two little ones. They are a true gift. And although they make each day a little harder... they also make each day worth it.

Lesson Learned?

Clara was laying on the couch, Jackson decided to put a pillow on top of her and then jump off the arm of the couch and do a belly flop on her back.
Of course she cried.
What did I do?
I made him lay down with a pillow on top and I jumped on him.
Did it hurt?
At first he just laughed. But I think he eventually got the point.
Is this correct parenting?
Not sure.
But do you think he learned his lesson?
Hope so.
