from the mouth of a 3 year old...

Jackson and I were walking out of the grocery store when we saw a midget pushing the carts back into the store. This is what Jackson said (a little on the loud side):

J: Look how small he is!
M: Yeah.
J: He is really small! Like a baby!
M: (searching for the right words)... but you are small and you are not a baby.
J: Yeah, but he is really small.

Funny Jack.

For Melis....

Saturday...

Scott talked me into going to the BYU/COLORADO game. I didn't really want to, only because it meant taking both kids. Jackson.... great! Clara... not so great. But I figured it was better getting out and being together for at least a couple hours rather than me sitting home by myself.

Minus the fact that Clara was:
1. Touching and poking every one around us.
2. Eating endless amounts of sugar because that is all mom had in her purse.
3. Entertained going through my purse and wallet... and of course now I seem to have lost my drivers license.

She did great!!!! ha ha.

This kid is football obsessed. I wish Scott and I would have counted how many times he sang the cougar song to himself just on the car drive to the stadium. Thankfully I had a fabulous reason to leave and get Clara out of the stadium...
Melis was in provo! Woo-woo!
I have to claim this girl (who I absolutely adore) as my FAMOUS FRIEND! She has been seeked out by an LDS magazine and has been asked to be in a 4 page spread as their "modest model". She has been doing modeling for quite some time and is GORGEOUS and very TALENTED!
Don't worry... when the issue is out... I WILL LET YOU ALL KNOW. But get yours quick, because I might have to purchase every copy.
When Clara saw her she was in heaven! She could not stop staring at her. Clara has always loved Melis, but really - I could not get her to take her eyes off of her for a good 6 or 7 minutes. And forget mom, she wanted nothing to do with me! Ugh.
We had so much fun chatting and catching up at Cafe Rio. After we headed over to the mall and I bought us matching Penguin t-shirts. We figured it was something both our boys would love to see us wear. It ended up being such a fun night!
I love you Melis. I am so happy for your happiness and wish you all the happiness in the world! Mouahhhhhh!!!!

A Weekend In Heber....

Melissa and Dave decided to come to Utah for a quick weekend trip before their baby comes! They were able to meet baby Taina-Jade, go to the BYU game, and enjoy some good quality family time together.

We must have really worn my mom out. She fell asleep with Taina-Jade on the couch.
Jack and Jetta have so much fun together!
Baby Taina-Jade.
I love this girl! She is beautiful, sassy, and active!
This is me. Yes, I am asleep. Yes, my eyes are open.
Henry and Jack ready for the BYU game. (Or as Jack says it.... the "BY" U Cougars. He doesn't get that the B and Y are separate.)
While the guys were gone at the game, I painted Jetta's toes and nails and did her hair. I can't wait to do this with Clara.
Henry, Nana, Jack, and Melissa making magic cookie bars. Yummy!
Crazy AJ.
I am so glad our family was able to be together this weekend. I love you all!
Families are Forever :-)

All About Clara...

Clara at 14 months:

She loves to sit on the dishwasher and pull everything out as I put it in.
Her best friend: Baby Einsteins, Old McDonald Had A Farm
*I love that her pants are falling off.
Sick Girl = Pillow. Soft Blankie. Sippy. Tylenol Bottle. Baby Einstein = Quiet Girl
Chillin'.
She is starting to make animal and car noises when she plays.
This is only one of many falls.
*Of course, mommy takes the picture over saving the baby.
She is very selective with whom she wants and when she wants them. Here... she wants only her daddy.
She loves when Jack wrestles with her. I freak out - but she is nothing but giggles.
This girl can EAT! Nothing gets in the way of her food. Nothing.
She loves to find Jacks hats and put them on. But if I put a hat or flower on her head it is off faster than you can say... "you look so adorable!" ugh.
She loves to sing and can do some of the movements to popcorn popping.
She is as stubborn as can be when it comes to walking. As of right now she is taking a couple steps. But I know she could do it if she wanted.
She loves to hang out and play in her bed after she wakes up.
First word: Ball (just like her brother).
In a squealing contest... hands down she would win for being the loudest.
When she is tired, she sucks on her two fingers and graps at my clothes and rubs them between her fingers.
I love my Clara Rose.

Life As It Is....

I love that the weather is getting cooler so that I can get back to my moring walks with the kids.
But I hate that the pool is officially closed.

I just registered for my first triathalon. I am freaking out.

I know I am not done having kids. But the thought of having more kids makes me sick to my stomach.

Every night we go to bed I tell Scott how special I think our kids are. They are 'different'. Does every mom think that about their own kids?

When Jackson was little he was dressed so cute. Clara more often than not looks like an orphan. I guess thats what happens when I choose not to work and sacrafice that extra pay check.

I have cooked dinner every night for the past 2 weeks. I don't think that has happened since... hmmm... ever.

It has been a financial rollercoaster year.... we bought our first house, had a 2nd kid, Scott lost his job, went back to school, kindof had a job, took the DAT, and applied to dental school.... and despite all of that, I have never been so happy.

I am obsessed with Zucchini. I eat it almost every day.

Scott has 2 dental interviews scheduled. I wish I could go with him. But paying for this process for the 3rd time... yeah ... it's only a little bit expensive.

My friends are planning a girls trip in November. This will be my FIRST.... woo woo!

I love fashion but I hate to be trendy. Does that sentance contradict itself?

Sometimes I wish Scott and I could start over from the day we got married. But then I wouldn't know what I know now. And what I know now... I think that's more important.

I love my sisters. They make me happy. I wish we all lived closer.... well, I wish Melissa lived closer. The others are not far.

Why do parents always blame their fussy child on teething? Don't worry I do it too. I guess it makes us feel better. It gives us a reason as to why our kid is screaming 24-7.

Sometimes I feel pressured to drink Diet Coke just because I'm a mom. But... I just 'quit' and I am going on 1 week without. Still feeling good.

The other day I was complaining to Scott about eating to many sweets. He responded by saying, "You are what you eat". Ha. Just then I pulled out my Big Hunk and finished it clean.

I love the Disney Chanel. My neighbor and I have spent the last 2 Tuesday nights watching Wizards At Waverly Place: The Movie, while the boys are out playing BBall. I know I know... total teeny bopper show. What-ev, I like it.

I have been sewing like crazy the past couple days. 1 apron, and 2 sleep sacks for babies... I am super impressed with myself!

This past week, in a 12 hour period... I lost my keys at the mall. Had to call a friend to bring me my spare keys. Woke up the next morning to my "spare" keys locked in my car, along with my phone. Decided to run it off with the kids in the stroller, only to find one of my tires had a hole.... ahhh.... It was a great start to the day.

My life... as it is.... for your reading pleasure.

Enjoy :)

Labor Day Camping!

We went camping with some friends for Labor Day. It was so fun and absolutely gorgeous!

We were able to take up my parents tent trailor... it made the camping so easy and convenient. Clara had her own section; we set up her pack 'n play, turned on the sound machine, closed the curtains and VOILA, she had her own little room!

We never got a group picture. But I think there were more kids than adults... they were all so cute and had so much fun shooting BBguns, playing in the mud, and getting dirty!
We stayed up late, laughing histarically as we all watched Mykelle doing the "squishy face", and "bitter bear face". We also heard a PERFECT imitation of one of Michael Jackson's songs (it sounded just like him!) and a Sean Connery impersonation. It was hilarious.
The kids loved the 4-wheelers. And of course, they had to pack as many on as possible. Only 2 minor problems with this little one:
1. She woke up with a full blow-out diaper. All the way up her back! I had to strip her down and clean her off with cold wet wipes... and it was already so cold in the morning. I felt so bad!
2. I was playing with her in the tent trailer. I went to go hand her a ball and she sat up against the side of the window against one of the beds. I guess we didn't secure the sides good enough because she slipped right through and landed on the ground outside the trailer. Ooops! Mykelle saw her fall and ran and picked her up just as I got out of the trailer. Other than a little cut in her mouth she was just fine.
Jackson took this shot. He is my little photographer. Ha ha.
This was the view from our trailer. It was so pretty! And luckily someone found us a bridge so that we could walk back and forth with out trying to jump over the swamp!
These two little guys are best (and sometimes worst) buddies! When things are good... they are good! But as soon as one of them gets upset... it is a full out brawl. Tackles, scratching, punching, and screaming.
*One day Brendon was trying to keep Jackson out of his house. Jackson put his shoulder into the door, and plowed Brendon into the wall. Steff (Brendon's mom) ran into the room and was holding the two boys apart as they were trying to get to eachother. She now has a beautiful dent in the wall to never forget their "strong" friendship!

Thanks Mykelle and Ash for the fun weekend! Loved it!

Swiss Days & The BYU Game...

Swiss Days was crazy as always. Although this year I didn't spend nearly as much time there as I have in the past. We went up late Friday night with some friends and browsed around a bit. That night we slept at my parents house and watched a scary movie... The Uninvited (a little weird, but good). Saturday morning we went to the parade. Usually my dad's business does a float but this year he chose to pass... which was a nice change. We stood on the side and filled my purse with all the candy that was being thrown out. Jackson loved it. He stood there with his arms out and would jolt for the candy when it landed on the ground.
After the parade was over we let him play on the blow up toys for a bit. Then walked around a little more... ate a Navajo Taco (which we both decided we never want to eat again), and then decided to head home.
The kids were exhausted! They went to bed so late. And all the time outside, with the crowds, in the heat... it zapped them.
*His poor head looks so uncomfortable. But his leg crossed over is awesome! And you know that when Clara falls asleep in the car she is REALLY TIRED! I had to take of picture of this one... this is a rare thing.
*I love her cute little crossed feet.
That night we went with some friends and enjoyed a night of football... BYU Cougar football that is! It was an amazing game. It was so fun to celebrate this first and very very big game of the season!
We love our cougars!
The kids had so much fun running around and playing games on the tramp.

GOOD TIMES.
