Last Game Day.

Jackson had his last soccer game...

I am going to miss... watching all the kids run in different directions as they take the ball away from each other and pass to the opposing team. I will miss Jackson running his little heart out, scoring multiple goals, and watching him talk "game plans" to the other kids on his team.

I am not going to miss.... getting those darn socks over his shin guards, not only once a week, but twice a week. And since we have moved - it has been a 15 min drive to The Arena - not fun, especially when we hit rush hour.

But it was fun while it lasted, and I am sure we will be back to this sport sooner than later.

And because The Arena is soooo hot inside, and it was over 100 degrees out - we stopped off for a Sonic. It's one thing I will never say no to. :)

Water Slide 'n' Hike

We have hiked more this year than EVER in my entire life. Its been really fun. The kids are at great ages for it. This one in particular is not far from our house and is perfect on a really hot day! The kids had to be hoisted through the deeper sections and pushed up and over the bigger boulders, they did great - and I would go back today if we could.

 And then came the slide. It was a bit intimidating... but SOOO fun. And apparently I am a nose plugger. You would thing all my years in Diving would have taught me to keep my hand at my side... apparently not. :)

This was so fun. And for those that are visiting this fall.... if the weather permits, we might have to include this in our list of "To Do's" while you are here. You will love it.

I am quite positive that I am the only person out there that has stayed consistent with our blog... until this month. I am not sure what happened. Its not a matter of "no time"... in my life, there is always time to blog. I guess I just got lazy.

A lot has happened. We moved. We played. We unpacked. We played. We roasted for the first weekend in our house with no AC while outside temps were near 100. We played. Jackson started school. We played. Scott started school... and the playing stopped. Ha ha. No not really. Thus far Scotts schedule has been semi open. So we still have managed to get some good play time in.

We had so much help with our move.... like SO MUCH HELP! We had a great turn out from our ward. A great turnout from friends. And 6 missionaries. I hardly did a thing, except direct traffic.

We did a lot of eating out. Mostly at Costco since the food is so cheap and moving is so expensive. Pretty sure all those Pizza's and Frozen Yogurts added an extra 10 pounds to our family, ok ok.... not the family - just me.

And since our AC went out the first weekend in our house, this is how we slept - the fan on HIGH all night long. 

And since this house was not lived in for almost a year - Scott sprayed and sprayed and sprayed for spiders. I don't do spiders.

 Jackson started Kindergarten. He did great! No tears... which completely shocked me. His teacher is great. The school is great. And he has already made some cute little friends.

 We set up a little pool in the back yard. The kids played and played. We love our yard.

 The kids have enjoyed multiple protein shakes, popsicles, and otter pops outside!

 We miss our pool. But we still have friends with pools and we will accept any invitation that is offered... seriously guys.... any invitation. :)

Deep Sea Fishing

Our friends talked us into a day of Deep Sea Fishing. It was kinda hard to say no to when my friends mom offered to watch our kids for the day! The deep sea fishing was 2 hours north which meant we had to leave our house by 3:30 am to get to the boat on time.... ummmm EARLY!!!

This is Scott as the boat was heading out. I loved the morning clouds on the coast! Oh and by the way... IT WAS FREEZING!!!!!! Once we got going - the waves were insane! And we were at the front of the boat so we could fill every drop and all the cold water that came over the top! My poor friend, Leona was SICK SICK SICK... Scott was even a bit queasy, but he was able to hold his breakfast down :)

Fish bate. 

I quickly learned my TOMS were not the best choice of shoes. They were soaking wet and covered in fish guts.

I think next time I will wear something more similar to these boots. It's a fashion statement... all the legit fishermen were wearing these. Maybe it will help me catch more fish too?

The Seagulls and Pelicans followed us the entire ride, and often would get hooked on some ones line when they tried to steal the bait. Luckily that never happened to me - I think the bird would have won that battle.

The weather was perfect. By noon it was sunny, warm, and peaceful. I loved it.

And here are the fish that we caught.

Ok.... just kidding. Not really. The barracuda was our friend Jed's (he is the real fisherman).

These are the fish that Scott and I caught. Commonly referred to as Rock Fish. Mine was a Red Snapper and a Mackerel. And Scott caught 2 Sugar Bass...

The Sugar Bass tastes the best, its not fishy at all. Then the Red Snapper, and last the Barracuda. The Mackerel is really just used as bait. I asked the deck had if I could attach it to my line and go for a shark... he just laughed.

I am so glad we did this. It was a stretch for our "Student Budget"... but we are going to keep our eyes out for Groupon Deals and definitely go again. It was awesome.

Oh - and did I mention that I was much better at tying my line than Scott? I have to gloat because its rare... Scott is better at everything.... ALWAYS. But not this time. I was proud. :)

We went on a hike with some friends. Its a river that comes down the mountain and forms little pools as it goes. WE HAD SO MUCH FUN. The water temperature wasn't too cold. Jackson got in all the way! There were black berry bushes all along the river, so as we hiked we picked and ate. YUM! This was so much fun. Can't wait to go back again.

Moving....

I am so glad this move is over with.

Thankfully Clara's birthday present from Nana Lisa kept the kids occupied most of the time... It is a "Mini Stereo"... with a built in iPod that you download music to and then you can sing along into the microphone. It is pretty awesome. Clara loves it - her song of choice is... Justin Biebers "Baby".

They pretended like their empty shelves were bunk beds.

They wrestled in our empty apartment with friends that helped us move.

And then we moved in to our new house and realized the AC wasn't working. This is how we all slept. Fans blowing directly in our faces.

And Scott sprayed the house to get rid of all our not so welcome "spider friends".
