Me... Sick... ???

I have always bragged about my health and the fact that I rarely get sick. A cold here and there, but nothing that puts me out of commission. Well those bragging rights have officially been taken away this past winter...

I have been sick with the flu not one, not two, three, or four, BUT FIVE times!

It really is quite ridiculous. The good thing about it is that Scott has only had it 2 times and Jackson has only had it once. Clara is in good shape, thus far.

Please - wish me better health for the rest of the year. I need a break. And my kids need a mom. Thanks.

Announcement!!!!!

I am so lucky to announce....

(no i am not pregnant)

BUT MY SISTERS ARE!!!!!!!!

Candice is due in September with baby #2!

Melissa is due in October with baby #3!

I am so excited for them both and can't wait for the little ones to arrive. Candice has already told everyone that she is not going to find out what it is ... she will let it be a suprise just like her first! Melissa will you find out OR wait?

Congratulations! I love you guys!

Go Cardinal's!!!

Jack has been wanting a football helmet FOREVER!!! His Nana Lisa was so thoughtful and decided to get this for him for his Birthday. She ordered it a couple weeks before his birthday only to find out it was on back order. We waited and waited and waited and it finally arrived!!!!!

Jack is in heaven with his new gear! If I would let him he would wear this to school, to bed, to the store, on walks, he probley wouldn't even take it off in the bath tub. But unfortunatly he has a mother that says otherwise. Of course Scott is right there with him always playing, running, and tackling. The other day I walked in to THIS:
A tent! It is Jacks new obsession to do this with Scott. It's actually really funny what they do. The set up all the stuffed animals across the room and Jack pokes his head out of the tent with gun in hand and shoots all the animlas. Scott collects the carcases and brings them back for a feast.
*Cami you should be proud.

Jack is the luckiest boy in the world to have such a fun daddy!

St. Patrick's Day...

Thanks to all of you fellow bloggers out there -- I quickly realized that I had not missed St. Patricks Day and I was still going to beable to create a fun day of green for my little ones.

It started out with a perfect morning... the kids sleeping in until about 9:00 am. Hoo-ray! Scott and I were able to lay in bed and listen to nothing but peace. It was wonderful. Although, you would think that I would have taken that opportunity to get up and prepare a nice breakfast? Nope. I went to the store and bought St. Patrick's Day donuts. Breakfast for champions right? Later that night we had Melis and Jack over for the traditional Irish dinner... Corned Beef, Cabbage, Potatoes, and Rolls. Melis made Apple Pie for dessert. It was all so yummy.
After dinner we were talking to the boys about Leprachauns and searching all over the house to see if we could find one... when suprise suprise... the doorbell rang and the leprachaun (thanks Jessie) left a pot of gold for the boys!
These 2 can have alot of fun together. The past week has been a good one.
Clara was in love. She could not stop playing with Jacks hair and rolling on top of him. It was funny watching Scott get all worked up about his little girl. We might have a wild ones on our hands....
I love this.
Our green family.

We had a great day celebrating our family's heritage.

Happy St. Patricks Day!

Sharing "Fit-Tricks"

Summer is just around the corner... HOO-RAY!!!!

This time of year comes, and I always get the bug to be more healthy and in shape. Not just because it's time to take the layers off... but because the sun is shining and it's finally warm enough to get out and be ACTIVE.

So... I have decided to do a "Fit-Trick" post. Here is what got me thinking:

My problem:

CRAVINGS!!! I am sure a lot of you do too. Mine is for SUGAR SUGAR SUGAR.

What is my trick?

Crystal Light. I buy the small packs of crystal light and first thing in the morning I get a big glass of water with ice, and put a small amount of crystal light into my water. I keep the amount extra small, just to give the water a nice sweet taste. And although it only has 5 calories per serving, it does have aspartame in it, so you want to be cautious with your amounts you consume. But for me, this works. Especially at night, when I get my late night Snack Attacks.

So now that I have created this post... I would love if all of you create one too! You can post a message on my post about what works for you, or do your own on your blog. You might find something new that helps give you that kick for summer!

March 17th ... ha ha.

Seriously? Really? Ha ha.

So, I really am an idiot. I read my sister in laws blog, she had a post about St. Patrick's Day... so I obviously assumed that that Day was the holiday. But Saturday was the 14th and St. Patrick's Day is the 17th... why the date never registered in my mind... I am not sure?

Hoo-ray, I don't have to depressed about forgetting the holiday, now I can just feel like a flake for thinking it was the holiday even though it wasn't.

forgetting the holiday?

I just realized today is St. Patricks Day. Yes, just now. It is 6:45 pm... I have gone the entire day, running errands, playing with the kids, getting things done, and not once did it cross my mind. I didn't even have the kids in green, or myself for that matter.
I am actually a bit sad about it. My mom always made St. Patrick's Day a fun one. She would dye our breakfast milk green and we would draw four leaf clovers on our faces and hands with green markers before we left for school. She also was creative with our lunches... green sandwich bread, green cookies, green grapes, green pack of starbursts... basically everything was green. For dinner she would always make a special Irish Dinner... Corned Beef and cabbage was the main tradition. I know she always tried to make it special because we have Irish in our blood, I am not sure how much, but enough to claim it.
This is something I have always wanted to do with my kids and I completly forgot! I know you are all thinking... get over it - your kids would never have remembered it anyways. Yes, that is true... but it's still something fun that I would have liked to do... and even though they most likely would not have remembered, I would have (at least I would like to think I would?).
So anyways... the day is over. I am an idiot. I guess I will have to make up next year.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

All the randoms

I havn't been as diligent in my blogging as I would like to be. So here are the little random pictures from the past couple months....

Mondays I do a playgroup with a couple friends from High School. A couple weeks ago we decided to take the kids to the Draper Temple open house. They are at the age where they might remember a few things from it. I think if Jack remembers anything it will be the water that he thought he could put his swimsuit on and go swimming in, and the animals underneath the water. Ha ha.
These are his playgroup friends... Andrew, Millie, and Jack.
(Really I think playgroup is more for us moms, I love chatting with my friends, even though I rarely get through a whole sentance without being interrupted by one of my lovely kids :)

Clara took over Jacks bed. Ha. Just kidding. This little one belongs in her crib. Jacksons new obsession... food coloring in the bath tub. This particular time I accidently left the food coloring next to the tub and he of course added the entire bottle to the water. I kept hearing him say, "wow, it's so dark"... when I went to see what he was talking about - this is what I found....
Jack loves to dress up in his sports clothes, his batman cape, and blue ski goggles. What does he create? In his words exactly.... A Running Player ????
Jack loves to play with this "lap top", as he calls it. Whenever Scott or I am on the computer he sets up shop next to us and works just like we do.
Snowboard trip #2... Scotts sister Jenna, was in town the other week and we went out for another day on the slopes. This picture was takes at the top of the mountian right before the fell that ended the day for me.
It sure was gorgeous up there!
Brad, Jaime, Scott, Me. The fabulous lift ride up!Clara's new favorite... sitting up! She has finally mastered this phase of her little life and LOVES it! She is getting so big...
Jackson rarely falls asleep on the couch... and when he does you know it is because he is absolutley exausted!!!! And this is one little worn out sleeping face.
A few weeks ago, I introduced my friend Melis and her little boy Jackson to the amazing Cabela's. It's like a free zoo for us moms. The kids love it. And apparently Melis loved it too, she found this sexy mannequin and got her dream Spider Man kiss. Ha ha. Here are the two boys at Cabela's. What could be more fun that playing on a swing inside a store with dead animals all around????
My friend Jordan was in town from Boston the other week. Some of us girls were able to get together and go to breakfast while she was here. It was so fun to see everyone! Some of the girls I have not actually seen in person for about 5 years!
From left to right:
Alicia (holding her jackson, Abby (holding alicia's andrew), Jhordan (holding her neice), Heather, Me, and Amanda (holding her millie). It was so fun to see you girls, let's not let time go so long next time!

Things have been so busy, and we have been having alot of fun. Hopefully I will get more on top of this blogging thing so that I don't have to do a make-up post like this one.

Jack's Family Party

Monday night we did a birthday party for Jack with my family. As everyone arrived and Jackson saw all of his presents he could hardly stand to wait to open them. But his mean mommy made him wait until after dinner. It was so fun watching his excitment build.

He got this Spider Man mask from my mom. It is meant for the water but I can garuntee you that he will be wearing this every hour of the day! I was a little "caked-out" so I made a delicous apple turnover dessert. It's probley the most unhealthy thing I have EVER made. But it is soooo worth it!
My mom and dad also gave him this great baseball machine. It is amazing, I wish I knew how to add clips from my video camera on here.... but you step on the red button on the bottom and the machine picks up a ball, plays music, and puts in place for you to swing. It is awesome! Hey batta batta batta!
Nana loves Jack. Nana loves Jack. Nana loves Jack. (mom you are probley the only one who gets this) Jack loves his nana. Jack loves his Nana. Jack loves his nana. :)
The best papa in the whole world.

Jack also got 2 guns from his Aunt Cami and Judd (they figured he better start young), Extra fun coloring books from Candi and AJ and Abo, and puzzles and card games from Henry and Jetta. Thanks everyone! Jack loves you all so much!

Jack turns 3 years old!

February 27th, my little Jackson turned 3 years old! I seriously cannot believe that 3 years have gone by already. We had some fun celebrations with the little guy... here is where it all began ...

Friends Birthday Party.
We decided to do a Sports themed party. For those of you that do not know, he is obsessed with any and every sport out there... and he is extra competitive... sounds just like his dad right??? Yep.

So we had some athletic games for all the kids to participate in:
  • Basketball shoot-out
  • Racing Lanes
  • Long Jump
  • Soccer ball kicking
I think the racing lanes were the favorite, the kids kept wanting to go back to it.
At one point, Davis (Jacks cousin) and Jackson (my Jacks friend) had a pretty hard core stare down at another... mean faces, scrunching of noses, and I think even a few growls... it was hilarious. Boys will be boys. Jacks friends... Sophia, Davis, and Tyson.
After we played all the fun games, each of the kids earned a Medal... everyone is always a winner!THEN.... we had the most shocking surprise... Spider Man (Jacks most favorite Super Hero in the entire world) showed up at the party!!!!!Jack was in awe! Some of the kids were a little scared of our Super Hero friend... but the Birthday boy loved it (and that's all that really matters).
Go Spidey!
The kids enjoyed pizza, chips, and of course we can't forget the veggies. Not all of the kids indulged in the carrots and celery - but a few did. Way to go healthy kiddo's.Can I say... PRESENTS??? It was almost better than Christmas! He got endless amounts of awesome gifts. It was funny watching him open the presents with all of the other little kids around, they were all trying to give them their gifts they had brought him, a few of them even opened up their gifts on their own because they were so excited. Gift opening was a little crazy. My sister told me that with her little boys party she waited to open the gifts until after the kids had gone home. After our experience, I might have to take her advice and do that next year.
And don't forget the cake. I had a great idea from my friend Alicia to do a Baseball and bat. She did it for her little boy and I fell in love... so here it is. It was pretty easy to make, and it's always fun to get creative.
We ended with a pinata. The kids went home with A TON of candy. I apologize to the parents for all that sugar... (sorry).
We had a ton of fun. It was definitely insane with 10 kids. After the party my mom told me that usually you invite the amount of kids for how old the child is. That would be 3 for Jack. Ha. I guess I missed that in the Birthday How To Do's?!?
Happy Birthday little Guy! Here are my favorite things about you right now!
1. You are the definition of ACTIVE!
2. You love to help your mommy around the house.
3. You are so sweet to your sister and love to give her kisses and wipe her spit-up from around her mouth.
4. You are so smart and love to learn. You and daddy do chemistry together and every time you are shocked at what you see.
5. Whenever you play basketball you give us hugs and kisses depending on if you make it or miss it.
6. You make me call you Batman, Superman, or Spider man depending on what you are wearing.
7. You are insanely organized. Especially with your room, it has to be just so... and your bedtime routine has to be the same every night or you refuse to go to sleep. (maybe you do have some genes from your mom?)
8. You get mad when mom moves Clara's car seat to the other side of the car. You love her right next to you so that you can make faces at her and watch see her smile and laugh back at you.
9. You love to sing. Your favorite song is 'I'm Yours by Jason Mraz'.
10. Every time we pull in the garage you can't wait to get out and run upstairs to scare daddy at his desk. Sometimes you even run right past him and don't even notice him because your excitement is running so high!
I love you Jack... your my favorite little guy!
