Goodbye Emma & Adam

Our dear Friends are moving on Tuesday. To say that we will miss them is an understatement. We have loved living in the same complex, spending afternoons at the pool, day trips to Disney Land, seeing them at church, count less park outings, and of course Sunday Dinners!

Day Date in L.A.

Saturday Scott and I took off for a few hours to L.A.

We started out with lunch at the Nickel Diner. It was a cute little diner right in downtown.

Our food was great, minus the $3.00 for a can of Diet Coke, and the "highly recommended bacon donut", which is definitely not "highly recommended".

We then went to Santee Alley.

 Jackson has been begging to go here ever since we moved. We decided to celebrate his "graduation" from pre-school and go out and do something fun. I have to admit, this place was pretty cool. I even told Scott as we were leaving that it would be fun to come here together for a date night... ha ha... Its like a Chuckee Cheese but bigger, and MUCH better food!

The kids had a blast! I am sure we will be taking them back soon.

Jacksons Last Day of Pre-school

Jack's last day of pre-school was on Friday. Unfortunately he come down with the flu on Thursday. And although he felt fine when he woke up, I kept him home just to be safe... the last thing I wanted was a call from the school telling me that my "once adorable child" had just thrown up all over the floor.

But I knew that he would want to say goodbye, and I wanted some pictures - so I took him in for the last 30 min.

American Idol...

A day in LA... with the girls... and American Idol!

After waiting in line to exchange our vouchers for tickets, we headed over to Bottega Louie... seriously so good. I might be dreaming about it tonight while I sleep.

They had the most adorable bakery that none of us could resist!

 We then went over to the fashion district. Jenny & I were both on the search for a purse. Jenny... the scavenger that she is... found this sketchy guy that called another sketchy guy that led us into an ally, and then into a parking garage, and then over to the trunk of his car. Smart? Well... there were 4 of us girls - so we were hoping the odds were in our favor.

 By 4:00 we were at the Nokia Theater, in our seats, waiting for the show to start!

It was only an hour show - which bummed me out a little, I was expecting 2 hours. But watching Scotty and Lauren was incredible. And Taio Cruz performed... of course awesome!

We had so much fun! I will ditch out on a day of "real life" for a dose of LA any time! Thanks ladies!

Fathers & Sons

Scott took Jackson to Fathers & Sons. Jackson had a BLAST!

There was a fire truck and helicopter for the boys to look at and climb in.

They ate food, roasted marshmallows, played with sticks in the fire, had marshmallow war games, set up a balance beam/ropes course, and stayed up way too late!

Jackson had so much fun camping with the boys... but Scotts response to the whole night was, "Fathers & Sons isn't as fun when you are a father". He was referring to the boys staying up all night long, goofing off and being noisy, and Jackson waking up every hour confused at where he was... I don't think Scott got much sleep! BUT despite the lack of sleep, I know he would do it over and over again just to spend time with his little man!

Scotts Surprise 30th Bash!

Scott turned the big 3-0! He was not excited to turn 30, to be honest I think he has been dreading this birthday for years now. He did not want to say goodbye to his 20's! But really - 30 is the new 20.... its all over the magazines! Even the stars say 30 is prime... so I say to MY MAN... cheers to the you and the next best decade of your life!

We started our day off with a present for dad from Jack & Clara: a new indoor bball. Scott plays endless amounts of basketball, so he deserved it. Then we were off for donuts at the "DONUT MAN". This little donut shop is heaven... and I am not a big donut fan... but this place - OMG, delish.

We then headed to Jacksons soccer game. I think this is Scotts favorite part of every weekend. He loves watching Jackson play. And Jacks scored 3 goals!

Then Scott was off... off to study that is. Boo. He has a test on Monday so he couldn't spend the day playing. But it worked out better for me to have him gone all day - it game me time to plan this.....

 Clara was TERRIFIED of her dad in this wig. She would not even look at him when he wore it. It was so sad.

Minus Jacksons comment early Saturday morning.... "When is it times for Dad's birthday party"? (Said right in front of Scott)... I think Scott was totally surprised! Ha ha. Not but really, I think having it at a park threw him off. And the costumes were definitely not expected. It was a fun night (despite the chilly weather). Thanks to everyone that came! I loved your costumes!

72-Hour Kits

I have been on an emergency preparedness kick for a couple months now. Scott would most likely describe it more like... PARANOIA! Ha ha. Anyway you put it... we will be prepared when/if anything happens. And when/if anything happens... he won't be making fun of me then - he will be praising me!

So I put together a FHE night with some friends and we put together our 72-Hour Kits. I assigned each family a certain food item to bring, and then we laid it all out and assembled our packs.

It was great to get together and exchange information that we have all looked at.

I also have done my best to keep my kids involved. They have watched me put everything together, they know what is in their kits, and they know that the kits are for emergency's. Next up: develop a step by step plan for our family. I think Jackson is old enough to understand all of this - and although I get worried that he will freak out by what "could" happen someday, I hope that, like me, he will feel confident knowing that we are prepared for the worst.

BUSY WEEK

Wow... I can't believe last week has come to an end. It was non stop go.... and non stop fun!

We went swimming with friends in our freezing cold pool water... which our complex "swears" is heated! But I highly doubt it.

We went to the beach with friends. The men focused most of their time on a sand castle that was wrecked only 30 minutes later by all the wild kids.

 The next day was Disneyland! We haven't been for over a month, so it was so nice to be back. It was almost 90 degrees and a bit crowded - but still worth it!

 I talked Jackson into going on the Grizzly Rapids with me. I forgot how scary it was and Jackson was freaking out. The kid is so brave that he refused to cry - but his worried eyes, stiff body, and straight face said it all - I felt like the worst mom! We were totally soaked, which felt good in the heat. I hope I didn't traumatize him.

 Cotton candy. Yum. I think Scott might be the only person in the entire world to not like it. What a weirdo!

Jackson picks Scott for 90 percent of the rides he goes on. But after I saw this picture, I realized I just might not be as much fun... ha ha. I love how much Jack loves his dad. 

After Disney I had a bridal shower for one of Scotts friends at school that is getting married. It was such a fun shower. We played some really funny games. Way to go Rach on the planning ;)

My friend has a lemon tree in her back yard. I love lemons and use them with almost everything so she sent me home with a huge bag! One day the kids helped me juice the lemons so that we could make "Lemonade". We have since made 2 batches and it is delicious! 

Friday night was Scotts end of year Dental Banquet. "The Show Go's On". It was a fancy dinner on the balcony of a restaurant that over looked the city. It was soooo much fun! We loved getting all fancied up and spending the night with good friends, eating good food, and laughing at all of his "drunk" classmates.

Clara slept in until 10 am on Saturday. And this is what we found when we pulled her out of her crib. I love her hair!!!
