BUSY WEEK

Wow... I can't believe last week has come to an end. It was non stop go.... and non stop fun!

We went swimming with friends in our freezing cold pool water... which our complex "swears" is heated! But I highly doubt it.
We went to the beach with friends. The men focused most of their time on a sand castle that was wrecked only 30 minutes later by all the wild kids.
Jackson and the boys raced the waves!
Clara loved looking for sand crabs with Jed!
The next day was Disneyland! We haven't been for over a month, so it was so nice to be back. It was almost 90 degrees and a bit crowded - but still worth it!
I talked Jackson into going on the Grizzly Rapids with me. I forgot how scary it was and Jackson was freaking out. The kid is so brave that he refused to cry - but his worried eyes, stiff body, and straight face said it all - I felt like the worst mom! We were totally soaked, which felt good in the heat. I hope I didn't traumatize him.
Cotton candy. Yum. I think Scott might be the only person in the entire world to not like it. What a weirdo!
Jackson picks Scott for 90 percent of the rides he goes on. But after I saw this picture, I realized I just might not be as much fun... ha ha. I love how much Jack loves his dad.
After Disney I had a bridal shower for one of Scotts friends at school that is getting married. It was such a fun shower. We played some really funny games. Way to go Rach on the planning ;)
Catherine! We can't wait to have you out here in Cali!
My friend has a lemon tree in her back yard. I love lemons and use them with almost everything so she sent me home with a huge bag! One day the kids helped me juice the lemons so that we could make "Lemonade". We have since made 2 batches and it is delicious!
Friday night was Scotts end of year Dental Banquet. "The Show Go's On". It was a fancy dinner on the balcony of a restaurant that over looked the city. It was soooo much fun! We loved getting all fancied up and spending the night with good friends, eating good food, and laughing at all of his "drunk" classmates.

Christina and Kiran. These lovely ladies go to school with Scott.

Scott with some of his classmates.

And here is the best part of the whole week...

Clara slept in until 10 am on Saturday. And this is what we found when we pulled her out of her crib. I love her hair!!!

Easter Weekend

My week may have started off lazy... but it definitely did not end lazy. We were go go go. And it was so fun.

Saturday morning the LDS families at Western University got together for an Easter Egg Hunt & BBQ at the park. We ate food, played at the park, the kids raced for eggs, and the adults played a couple games of sand volleyball! As we were driving away Jackson asked if we could move into a house by the park...  if only everyone else that came could live in a house by the park too!
Jackson started soccer a few weeks ago. He didn't have a game this week, but he still wanted to wear his uniform! He loves soccer, and to be honest... he is really good. And I am not just saying that because I am his mom.
Jackson must have found something exciting in this picture. I love his face expression.
Addie & Clara... cute little girls.

And our Easter Morning...

Jackson & his basket. The Easter Bunny brought Jackson a Venom figure... he was sooo happy!
Clara & her Easter basket. The Easter bunny nailed it this year for this little girl. A Repunzel dress, bracelets, stick on earrings, and rings. Just look at her smile... she is beyond thrilled!

And before church...

After church we decorated eggs.... while Clara was napping of course.
After church we got together with some friends for an Easter dinner and of course, another Easter egg hunt!
*Look at Jackson surrounded by all those little ladies.
Do you think I have enough shots of the two of my kids? Hmmm...
And to end the night.... Brock (a D.O. student at Western) re-aligned Scott. I guess that's what you do when a bunch of med and dental students get together on weekends.
We had a fabulous Easter. Filled with lots of friends, fun, and way too much candy (that about an hour ago found its way into the garbage can). Happy Easter to all!

Lazy Weekdays...

To say that I was lazy during the week is an understatement. We really did nothing. Scott would come home at the end of the day and ask what we did... I had nothing - if we ever left the house it was to take Jack to school or pick him up from school. Other than that... nothing. And you know what? I loved every second of it. We played toys, we watched movies, we cooked goodies, we ate goodies, we slept... yep, we were L.A.Z.Y.

My friend Melis came out with her boy Jack.

Both Jacks played iphone & itouch. Not really the way I played with my friends when they came over... but for kids these days, I guess it works.  Ha ha.
And here we go... I chopped my hair. Its just above my shoulders. Its a big shock. A week later, and I am still shocking. We also added some golden locks. Double shock. I look in the mirror... short hair + blonde = wow. But Melis did great. I have had lots of compliments, that must mean something good right? I need to take a pic and post. I will, but let me get out of my lazy streak first. :)
Bonnie came and played. My kids love Bonnie. She has so much energy its hard not to enjoy every bit of life when this little girl is around. I love it!
Scott came home from school one day craving some good homemade pizza. So what did we do? 2 words... Trader. Joes. They have the best dough for crust, the tastiest pizza sauce, and well pretty much everything else makes everything you make le-git.
The kids wanted to decorate some cookies... but remember that laziness that I was talking about? We did decorate, but used graham crackers & store bought frosting in stead. The kids could have cared less... they loved it. And to be honest... I might prefer a graham cracker with frosting over the actual cookie. Try it... its go-od.
Thats it for our week days.

I hope your week was more productive than mine ;)

Seriously? Seriously?

Scott and I went for a drive over Conference weekend. We drove up to the nearest Ski Resort.

This is what we found....

But here is the best best.... there were actually people skiing and snowboarding!

Here's the proof....

I was in total shock. I must be from UTAH.

Accomplished: Running up a mountain.

The So Cal Ragnar is just 2 weeks away! This was my week to push myself past my breaking point ... and lets just say it was accomplished.

One of my friends recommended a trail in Claremont.... she told me to stay to the left, it was a little more flat. HA HA HA! Flat. NO WAY! It was in-sane. There was nothing flat about it. It was a g.i.a.n.t. mountain... and the sun was shinning... and I didn't take any water with me (brilliant?)... and I wore my street running shoes... but should have worn my mountain climbing shoes... BUT really, it was beautiful! And I did it. And it felt great!

All I had was my phone... which takes crap pictures. But here they are...

Perfect Beach Day

Scott happened to have a half day on one of the warmest days of the year so far! BEACH TIME! WAHOOOO!!!!

In the past Clara has been terrified of the beach! We could not get her to go near the water, and she didn't care much for playing in the sand either. It was totally depressing... but looks like winter was a good break and she was in heaven! Thank my lucky stars!!!!!

I love love this picture! You can see Clara's happy face as she is braving the waves with her Daddy, and Jack is in the background bracing himself for the next big one. SO FUN!

Group picture of the guys (dental students)... they enjoyed football, frisbee, handstands in the sand, and some fun in the waves!
Clara is good at making friends with all of the students. She couldn't stop asking for Brian the whole time at the beach. He found her some pearls which equals.... new bestie in her eyes.
And Kim. Clara's fav. She asks about Kim on a weekly basis.

Jackson had some boys to play with! Hoo-ray! Hoo-ray! Hoo-ray!

It was a perfect beach day! Seriously... the weather was awesome! My kids were happy! The water felt great. I LOVE how close we are to the beach... and although we have not explored a ton of beaches yet, I LOVE Newport Beach.... its perfect with the kids. Any of you that need a some warmth - come our way!
