My life this week

The past couple weeks have been filled with some interesting events. The first and most depressing of it all was our new plasma fell and the inside screen shattered! Our stupidity is all to blame, we had it on a table that had a loose leg. The leg came out and the TV came crashing. We were so sad to see our TV broken, but at least its "just a TV", and thankfully Jackson was not by it when it fell.
Good news! My best friend from High School Michelle was intown after multiple attempts to get a bunch of our friends together it ended up just being the two of us with our crazy kids. Michelles oldest is Connor he is 2 1/2 years. He and Jack had fun together .... except when they were trying to steal eachothers toys. Michelle just had her 2nd. His name is Chase and he is 4 months. He looks just like her and has the best rolly polly legs!Tuesday I went to SLC and hung out with my sister, Candice. She has the cutest little house and is so creative. I wish I had some of her creativity in me! We went to Petsmart and bought Jack a little fish tank with 3 fish. He loves to look at them and feed them their food. Hoo-ray! Jacks first pet.

The worst part about this past week is that I realized I have some food allergies. My mom, my aunt, and my sister all have gone through it - so I guess it was my turn. A couple weeks ago, I got really sick and my mom guessed it was an allergy. I was a bit skeptical and continued to eat as I pleased. Of course, I became sick again. The sick feeling is alot like the flu but no matter how bad you want it - you cannot throw up, your body won't let you. Your stomach is in nots and has terrible knife like pains. It keeps you up all night long, by around 10 am you start to feel better and then if comes and goes through out the day. Ugh! It was absolutley terrible. Although, the good thing about it is that it does not last forever. For the next few months I will have to be extra careful with what I eat. No red meats, no eggs, no spicey foods, no tomato paste, no salsa (i love chips n salsa), and nothing that is too acidic. I don't mind watching what I eat, I am hoping this will help me get back on to a good diet plan. I am expecially grateful that my mom could help me through this and that she knew what the cause was. Thanks mom!

Twilight & Vampire Dancers

I am finally cought up with what everyone has been talking about... TWILIGHT... and just like everyone else, I too am obsessed. Wow! I went to buy the third book "Eclipse" that just came out and of course you had to reserve it. So I ordered one of my own, hopefully it will be here in the next couple days. I can't wait to get back into the life of Bella and Edward... will she be a vampire or not? I vote... YES!!!
Also, now that I have read the book - I seem to look at certain people as if they "fit" the part of a vampire. Does anyone agree with me when I say, Neil, from So you Think You Can Dance.... looks like he could play a role in her book? Maybe I am crazy. And not so much in this picture, but just on the show. Maybe it is because he moves so quickly and sleek like, isn't that how the vampires are described? And his teeth and tone of skin... and I guess maybe his "overall appearance", he's not all that bad.
I do love So You Think You Can Dance. I can not decide who I would choose to go. I think they are all amazing. I think if I had to make a choice I would go with Pasha as my first. His solo dance with the mannequin on Tuesday was too much for me. The girls are harder but I think I might cut out Lauren. I like her, but she is a little too "look at me, look at me"... if you know what I mean.

Randall Reunion, Pine AZ

This past weekend we went down to Pine AZ for the Randall Family Reunion. I was a little bumbed to have to drive 10 hours just for 2 days, but it ended up being worth it. His grandparents had matching shirts made for all of us and we did a lot of Geneology while we were there. I learned the Randalls were part of the original group that first lived in Pine. We went to their town museum that had alot of information about the Randalls and their history. We also had a night where each of the Randall kids picked a story to tell about our ancestors. It was so interesting to learn about their lives and what they were like when they were young. We all realized the "wild & crazy" personality of the Randall kids existed even back then. (uh-oh... what does that mean for my kids?) The whole gang.

The boys played Basketball ALL weekend long. On the way home Scott and Brad said it was like being at basketball camp because they were so sore. Hmmm.... they must be getting old.

Don't forget the ping-pong! I guess Grandma Randall has always been the champion but Brad took over this weekend. Of course everyone wanted to challenge him from there on out.

BUT....

The best part about the weekend was that on Saturday June 4th at 12 am ... Jenna and Dennis finally welcomed their little guy, Davis Grant Crandall into the world. All day Friday we were all so anxious for him to arrive. It was so fun for all of us to be together to hear about the great news. We are so happy for them both and can't wait to see the new addition to the family! Congratulations... we love you!

We've Moved ...

Well, we have found a new place to call home. It won't be for long, at most just 1 year...

Why did we move?

We were living in Orem, and our lease was up at the end of July. Scott is working with Brad in Lehi, it has been about a 20 min. drive back and forth. Brad and Jaime live in Lehi and love it. We found a killer deal... took it as fast as we could... and went with it!

The move went as good as we good have hoped for. I was able to get the keys early in the week, so every day I would load up my car and take a few loads out and unpack it. I wanted to be as organized as possible before all the big furniture came. Thanks to my dad we always have a free moving truck when needed. Thank you Heber Appliance! Friday night Scott, Brad, my dad, Miles and Adam moved all the big things for us.

Mean while, Jaime brought my mom and I dinner (thank you) while we were unpacking boxes and getting things cleaned up. When we finished it was so fun to have a backyard to let the kids play in.... naked! Check out lillies diaper (i think this is why they are supposed to wear swim daipers?), it is easier to let them go free - its just our backyard, no big deal right?!?We love it here and can't wait to get to know more people. Thanks to every one who helped!

Saturday July 21, I accomplished something I never thought I would ever do. I climed to the top of Mount Timpanogos. It was insane! Scott, his brother Brad, and myself all started out together. We started at the base at 8:45 am, arrived at the top at 12:45 pm, and didn't get back to our car until 5:00 pm. It was insane! We all agreed it was the most difficult hike we have ever done.

The hike is amazingly beautiful. The views, the flowers, the waterfalls... it was incredible. We saw 3 moose, the first one was so close we were all a little nervous it would start to charge. We survived. As we got closer to the top the difficulty increased. We had to hike through rocks that just radiated the heat and switchbacks up to the saddle that made you feel like you wanted to turn around and quit. Of course I had two very motivated men with me that would never let me do that. The saddle is the first breaking point where you can see the entire Utah County valley. But of course not quite the end. From the saddle you have to "climb" up these rocks that are incredibly steep, its like doing a stair climber after already hiking for 3 1/2 hours. Not at all easy! But we got to the top and it the view was undescrible.

We took a different way down that allows you to slide down a glacier. It was soooooo fun! At the base of the glacier is Emrald Lake. As we were taking a break there we heard a helicopter, looked up and realized it was Life Flight. They landed right behind us and we went up to see what was going on. We saw a shack and people inside, as I looked closer I realized it was the Scout leader from our old ward in Provo. Scott used to be the Scout leader and Jared was the Young Mens president. Last year they did this hike together with all the boys. This year we were hoping to catch up with them at the top but got started too late. Anyways, what we soon learned was one of the Scout boys lost his balance on the rocks just above the glacier. He tumbled down the mountain until he finally hit the snow and slowed down a bit. Amazingly, he had no broken bones just a bunch of huge gashes some of which were down to the bone... his head, elbow, side, and knee. It would have been too difficult to carry him down the mountain, so Life Flight was called to bring him down. We are all glad that he is okay.

The hike down was hard. My whole body was starting to feel the work it had been through. My feet were so tired it was hard to pick them up over the rocks. We were all so releaved to be done! I am very proud of myself for doing it, although as of now I cannot say I will ever to it again.

Monday was my 24th Birthday. The celebration started on Sunday with an amazing dinner at my parents house. My mom is quite the chef. Here is the menu... Grilled chicken marinated in a bohemian sauce, marinated shrimp with an amazing mango sauce, sweet corn on the, and watermelon and berries glazed in a creamy sweet sauce. Dessert was an elegant rich choloclate cake, from one of the Barefoot Contessa cookbooks (all of which are amazing). Thank you mom for such an amazing dinner!

Monday started off great. Jackson slept in until 9:30 !!! I think he knew it was my birthday. I decided to dedicate my day to shopping... that is my kind of birthday! We went from store to store and just hung out. Jackson would nap inbetween drives to each place. He did great and we had so much fun. I had a billion and one phonecalls from family and friends. Thank you to all of you who remembered... it was so fun to talk to everyone and have so many messages from people I love! The day ended with dinner at Applebees and bowling at FATCATS in Provo. I am not much of a bowler but thought the kids would love it. They did! Jackson loved seeing soooo many balls, Abbie beat both Jaime and myself, and my dad proved he still has hie special touch and outscored Miles by hitting to strikes at the very end. Thanks for such a fun day!
