Gateway Fountains

For the first time EVER... Jackson actually enjoyed these fountains! And although Clara did not even touch the water, she seemed to enjoy it just as much. Candice came along with AJ and Taina Jade. We had a fun watching the kids in the fountains, and of course enjoyed a little shopping as well.
They were giving away free pudding... the kids loved it. I was thrilled to shop in peace - until I saw the messy faces and chocolate covered clothes. Thank heavens for "ZOUT"!

Tantrums

I figured I better document at least one of Clara's tantrums. They happen multiple times a day. Usually they only last a minute or so, and then she is quickly on to something else. Other times, they go on and on and on... and that means NAP TIME.

This recent one happened to be in the bath time. She was gulping and coughing on the water - but still refused to ease up. The reason? I turned the water off. Rude right? She throws things when she gets mad. It could be a plate of food, a toy, a cup of juice... really, it's whatever is in her hand at the time. This time - it was the closest thing to her in the tub - the binoculars.
And then she usually hits at the air... with this really MAD face.
So what did I do next (besides continue to take pictures, ha). I got her out. And of course, that lead to more tantrums.
After clawing at the door - she ran her naked little buns into my room and threw herself to the floor. Very Dramatic. Very Intense.

I then wrapped her kicking body up in towel, and did my best to get her diaper and PJ's on with out having to use brut force to hold her down. We turned off the lights, turned on the sound machine, grabbed her baby and blanket and rocked in her chair for ummm 30 seconds... she really wanted nothing to do with me, comfort of a mom? please... she wanted the comfort of her bed. Great. Fine. Have what you want. I love you sweet girl (ok, not so sweet)... GOOD NIGHT.

Mt. Air

The other night we had the Stephen L. Richards reunion at the Mt. Air cabin. The kids loved playing in the creek, and on the rope swing. I love it up there and have so many fun family memories.

The Buzz

It's about time this kid had a summer buzz. His long hair was driving me crazy! It was a pain to do every day, it was fluffy, and he was roasting! My mom always cut my hair when I was little. Once I was all done we gather the hair and go spread it through out the yard, it was meant for the birds to use in their nests.

And although Scott thought we were crazy... Jackson and I took his hair and spread it all around the bushes.

Memorial Day

Growing up my dad owned Wasatch Lawn Cemetary and Mortuary. A while back he sold it -- but recently returned, and is back to doing what he loves most. So this Memorial Day brought back alot of memories for me as we spent the day at Wasatch Lawn. It started off with a flag ceremony. The horn was blown as the flag was raised to half mass, and then we all let black balloons go into the sky as the bagpipe played.

We then headed over to get the kids faces painted. Check out Clara's adorable butterfly... the lady had talent.
And then, for the first time EVER, we all went up to my grandparents & great grandparents grave and put some flowers down for them. At their grave there is a vase that you can pull out of the ground and put flowers in - if you want. Of course Adam tells Jack that it is really for sending messages down and talking with the people underneath. And of course - Jack was eating every word up.
My Great Grandparents. Stephen L. Richards and Irene Smith Merrill Richards.
My Grandparents. Elma Smith Richards and Philip Lingstroth Richards.

Free hotdogs and soda.
My hot dog addict.
*Note to mom... do not put me in white pants when we are planning on spending the day outside :)
A ride in the golf cart with Uncle Mimo and Papa.
I have no problem with cemetary's. In fact I feel like its a second home. I love this place. And someday I too will be burried here. But - lets hope that day doesn't come for many many many years.I grew up in a house not far from the Cemetary. So we took a drive by and I showed it to Jackson. I loved this house. So many good memories.
And then we made a quick stop by my sister Candice's house. They just added a new member to the family. AJ named this little sweetheart. I guess you could say its their version of a dog... but a goat.
Scott was gone all day helping Kristen and Garrett move - of course with these two rascals I am not of much help, but met up with them after at chick-fil-a and then moved on to their new adorable house. It is so cute!

And of course the day was ended with a BBQ outside. I loved this long weekend and hated saying goodbye to my husband husband this morning. I wish everday was a holiday :)

The kids

Just for the record.... this was the day after the snow storm last week. T-shirts and tanktops approved by the sun.I decided to build a fort with the kids one day. Jack loved it -- this ended up being a daily occurance for about 4 days in a row. Along with mass amounts of toys brought up from the basement and all of the blankets and pillows brought down from the bedrooms. Yep, it was a fun clean up each and every time :)
One morning at breakfast the kids decided to have a funny face contest. I like Clara's bottom funny face... she is too cute. And Jack thinks that these faces are his mean/scary faces. Ha.
And of course, what would beakfast at our house be without sunglasses?
