Me... Sick... ???

I have always bragged about my health and the fact that I rarely get sick. A cold here and there, but nothing that puts me out of commission. Well those bragging rights have officially been taken away this past winter...

I have been sick with the flu not one, not two, three, or four, BUT FIVE times!

It really is quite ridiculous. The good thing about it is that Scott has only had it 2 times and Jackson has only had it once. Clara is in good shape, thus far.

Please - wish me better health for the rest of the year. I need a break. And my kids need a mom. Thanks.

Announcement!!!!!

I am so lucky to announce....

(no i am not pregnant)

BUT MY SISTERS ARE!!!!!!!!

Candice is due in September with baby #2!

Melissa is due in October with baby #3!

I am so excited for them both and can't wait for the little ones to arrive. Candice has already told everyone that she is not going to find out what it is ... she will let it be a suprise just like her first! Melissa will you find out OR wait?

Congratulations! I love you guys!

Go Cardinal's!!!

Jack has been wanting a football helmet FOREVER!!! His Nana Lisa was so thoughtful and decided to get this for him for his Birthday. She ordered it a couple weeks before his birthday only to find out it was on back order. We waited and waited and waited and it finally arrived!!!!!

Jack is in heaven with his new gear! If I would let him he would wear this to school, to bed, to the store, on walks, he probley wouldn't even take it off in the bath tub. But unfortunatly he has a mother that says otherwise. Of course Scott is right there with him always playing, running, and tackling. The other day I walked in to THIS:
A tent! It is Jacks new obsession to do this with Scott. It's actually really funny what they do. The set up all the stuffed animals across the room and Jack pokes his head out of the tent with gun in hand and shoots all the animlas. Scott collects the carcases and brings them back for a feast.
*Cami you should be proud.

Jack is the luckiest boy in the world to have such a fun daddy!

St. Patrick's Day...

Thanks to all of you fellow bloggers out there -- I quickly realized that I had not missed St. Patricks Day and I was still going to beable to create a fun day of green for my little ones.

It started out with a perfect morning... the kids sleeping in until about 9:00 am. Hoo-ray! Scott and I were able to lay in bed and listen to nothing but peace. It was wonderful. Although, you would think that I would have taken that opportunity to get up and prepare a nice breakfast? Nope. I went to the store and bought St. Patrick's Day donuts. Breakfast for champions right? Later that night we had Melis and Jack over for the traditional Irish dinner... Corned Beef, Cabbage, Potatoes, and Rolls. Melis made Apple Pie for dessert. It was all so yummy.
After dinner we were talking to the boys about Leprachauns and searching all over the house to see if we could find one... when suprise suprise... the doorbell rang and the leprachaun (thanks Jessie) left a pot of gold for the boys!
These 2 can have alot of fun together. The past week has been a good one.
Clara was in love. She could not stop playing with Jacks hair and rolling on top of him. It was funny watching Scott get all worked up about his little girl. We might have a wild ones on our hands....
I love this.
Our green family.

We had a great day celebrating our family's heritage.

Happy St. Patricks Day!

Sharing "Fit-Tricks"

Summer is just around the corner... HOO-RAY!!!!

This time of year comes, and I always get the bug to be more healthy and in shape. Not just because it's time to take the layers off... but because the sun is shining and it's finally warm enough to get out and be ACTIVE.

So... I have decided to do a "Fit-Trick" post. Here is what got me thinking:

My problem:

CRAVINGS!!! I am sure a lot of you do too. Mine is for SUGAR SUGAR SUGAR.

What is my trick?

Crystal Light. I buy the small packs of crystal light and first thing in the morning I get a big glass of water with ice, and put a small amount of crystal light into my water. I keep the amount extra small, just to give the water a nice sweet taste. And although it only has 5 calories per serving, it does have aspartame in it, so you want to be cautious with your amounts you consume. But for me, this works. Especially at night, when I get my late night Snack Attacks.

So now that I have created this post... I would love if all of you create one too! You can post a message on my post about what works for you, or do your own on your blog. You might find something new that helps give you that kick for summer!

March 17th ... ha ha.

Seriously? Really? Ha ha.

So, I really am an idiot. I read my sister in laws blog, she had a post about St. Patrick's Day... so I obviously assumed that that Day was the holiday. But Saturday was the 14th and St. Patrick's Day is the 17th... why the date never registered in my mind... I am not sure?

Hoo-ray, I don't have to depressed about forgetting the holiday, now I can just feel like a flake for thinking it was the holiday even though it wasn't.

forgetting the holiday?

I just realized today is St. Patricks Day. Yes, just now. It is 6:45 pm... I have gone the entire day, running errands, playing with the kids, getting things done, and not once did it cross my mind. I didn't even have the kids in green, or myself for that matter.
I am actually a bit sad about it. My mom always made St. Patrick's Day a fun one. She would dye our breakfast milk green and we would draw four leaf clovers on our faces and hands with green markers before we left for school. She also was creative with our lunches... green sandwich bread, green cookies, green grapes, green pack of starbursts... basically everything was green. For dinner she would always make a special Irish Dinner... Corned Beef and cabbage was the main tradition. I know she always tried to make it special because we have Irish in our blood, I am not sure how much, but enough to claim it.
This is something I have always wanted to do with my kids and I completly forgot! I know you are all thinking... get over it - your kids would never have remembered it anyways. Yes, that is true... but it's still something fun that I would have liked to do... and even though they most likely would not have remembered, I would have (at least I would like to think I would?).
So anyways... the day is over. I am an idiot. I guess I will have to make up next year.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!
